Our relationship with animals begins at birth. Toy animals are the very first objects we handle. Our favorite fairy tales revolve around animal lives. Our family dog gives us unconditional love when our schoolmates, siblings, and even parents may not. Children are born with compassion, and you can help it grow.
The food system in our society has been co-opted by a profit-motivated industry that has purposely made processed food addictive and cheap (Read Salt, Sugar, Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us by Michael Moss). It’s time for you and your children to break free. There are so many delicious, nutritious vegan foods, books, movies and more, that you and your kids will love.
You’ll find countless videos, films, and documentaries supporting plant-based eating for kids and some movies with a strong vegan message that kids already love. We’re recommending these three to get you started but a simple Google search for “vegan kids videos and movies” will reveal countless more.
Point your kids to these vegan trailblazers on social media and they’ll soon discover they’re in good company. It’s now “cool” to be the vegan kid in the classroom and, as a parent, you’ll be proud knowing you’re raising caring and compassionate kids.
A simple search on Amazon or Barnes & Noble will reveal 100s of best-selling titles dedicated to raising vegan kids. Whether you are starting from scratch or introducing your kids now, there is a book out there with the content and support you need. Below are three of our favorite titles.
